Class Descriptions
Basic Hatha Flow
Hatha Yoga designed for beginners, providing a solid foundation of asanas (postures), pranayama (breath control) and meditation.
Holy Yoga
Holy Yoga is the intentional practice of connecting our entire being, body, mind and spirit with God: the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. With complete reliance on God's Word and prayer, Holy Yoga invites us to surrender and introduces us to Grace. When we breathe and move and have our being in Christ, we find ourselves in the flow of His magnificence. There is often a misunderstanding that yoga is a religion; it is not. Yoga is a spiritual discipline, much like prayer, fasting and meditation. Yoga has the capacity to enhance our personal beliefs and faith.
Extra Gentle
Designed for students with specific aches, pains, and chronic conditions.
Vinyasa Flow
In this style, students flow from one posture to the next. Although some postures are held for additional breaths, many of the exercises consists of linking breath with dynamic, flowing movement. Vinyasa Flow provides a total body workout, building strength, stamina, flexibility, and focus.
Restorative
In this relaxing practice, you do not have to hold yourself up anymore. With supported poses, you can simply let go. This allows students to focus on working into the poses in a way that maximizes feeling and breathing, while allowing space for mental and emotional transformation.
Aqua Yoga
From a physical standpoint, practicing asanas in the water causes less stress on the joints by allowing students to experience postures they may be unable to achieve on land. This creates more opportunity to build strength by utilizing the waters resistance. Also, the aqua environment may allow students to achieve a greater range of motion. From a mind-body standpoint, water is very comforting and nurturing, which enhances relaxation and readies our minds for a deeper meditative experience.
Non-traditional Yoga students may be drawn to Aqua Yoga, including pregnant women, individuals rehabbing from injuries and students dealing with chronic injuries, arthritis, fibromyalgia, obesity or neurological disorders.
